‼️🚨‼️ STORY TIME! This customer was forced to buy a almost $2000 “7 year ceramic coating package” from the stealership, I mean dealership. While paperwork was being signed they installed a paint sealant. The company which the sealant was from told me multiple times the product was a sealant and NOT a ceramic coating. HUGE difference. Sealants can give weeks to months of easily removed protection. Whereas most professional ceramic coatings are multi year, semi permanent protection layers that you’re not going to wash off using the wrong soap. Dealerships take advantage of the hype word “ceramic” and assume most of their customers will not know the difference. The customer reached out to another local shop (they caused permanent damage to his hood) after noticing the vehicle wouldn’t come clean easily and had probably thousands of spots on the paint that would not come off and had the dealership basically tell him good luck and kick rocks. This vehicle had probably the worst case of artillery fungus I have ever seen. Removal was a long time consuming process. After removal, the customer wanted the vehicle properly ceramic coated after a 2 stage paint correction and the results were night and day. I have the sealant brand tapped off because it wasn’t their fault the customer was charged an outrageous price for a spray on sealant. Got Shine? Something that I hear far too often when it comes to ceramic coating a new vehicle. “It’s brand new so the paint is perfect” It has been touched by multiple people prior to your ownership. In this case these sanding marks were probably from the factory. There was probably a little dirt or defect in the paint and the quick/cheap solution to fixing it is to sand it and send it out the door 🤷🏻‍♂️ So this will be fixed prior to applying a semi-permanent coating.
